Description
Presented is a fine English Georgian sterling silver creamer. This piecedates to 1826. The creamer is done in an elegant, classical style with a C
scrolled handle, sitting on four ball form feet. The creamer has a gadrooned
rim. The front, beneath the spout, has a cartouche in the form of a wreath.
The creamer is in good overall condition. The cartouche has some crinkling,
where a monogram was removed. There are a couple of dings here and there,
nothing of any significance. There are no leaks, no splits, and no repairs.
This piece is hallmarked just to the side of the pouring spout, with the lion
passant for sterling silver, the leopard's head for the city of London, the date
letter L for 1826, King George IV's head duty mark, and a maker's mark that is
partially worn, ending in -F.
The creamer stands about 3 3/8 inches tall.
The creamer weighs 147 grams or 5.2 regular ounces.
