Description
Presented is a Georgian, Scottish sterling silver gravy or sauce ladle made by Peter Grierson of Glasgow, Scotland in 1825. The ladle is done in a classic Fiddle pattern and there is an old, original monogram of the initials CH on the handle.The back of the ladle is marked with the tree symbol for Glasgow, the lion passant for sterling silver, a duty mark of King George IV's head, a date letter G for the year 1825 and a maker's mark probably for PG for Peter Grierson.
This piece is in good condition for its age. There is wear commensurate with age and use. There are no dents, no breaks, no monogram removals and no repairs.
The ladle measures 7 1/2 inches long.
